Drive Sustainability has the following position open:

Legal Compliance Expert 

Drive Sustainability is a partnership comprising 16 leading automotive companies working together on supply chain sustainability. Facilitated by CSR Europe, this initiative aims to enhance sustainability practices across the automotive supply chain by fostering a unified approach within the industry and integrating sustainability into procurement and due diligence processes.

To ensure compliance with emerging sustainability regulations, the partnership is seeking to reinforce its team by appointing a Legal Compliance Expert.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor pertinent regulations applicable to Drive Sustainability, understanding and translating their legal and practical implications for automotive companies and their suppliers.
  • • Contribute to various Drive Sustainability working groups by providing regulatory briefings.
  • • Collaborate with Drive Sustainability team members to conduct regulatory GAP analyses and propose practical follow-up activities.
  • • Facilitate project working groups comprising representatives from diverse automotive companies.
  • • Identify, select, and manage relationships with external project partners and key stakeholders, and represent Drive Sustainability in external engagements.
  • • Provide general coordination support for Drive Sustainability operations, including managing meeting content, facilitating consensus building, and aiding in the decision-making process.

MAIN REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in law, social studies, political science, international relations, labor or human rights law, or equivalent working experience in supply chain sustainability.
  • • Regulatory Expertise: Minimum of 3 years of working knowledge in international, regional, and local regulatory landscapes (laws, policies, international standards, etc.) and their practical implications for companies.
  • • Content Expertise: Strong understanding and practical experience in supply chain sustainability, sustainable sourcing, human rights due diligence, grievance mechanisms, regulatory compliance, and environmental due diligence.
  • • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with regulations like the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, Forced Labor Regulation, Deforestation Regulation, Batteries Regulation, and other pertinent international regulations.
  • • Sector Expertise: Experience in the automotive industry or other manufacturing sectors.
  • • Business Acumen: At least 3 years of corporate experience, adept at collaborating with diverse corporate functions.
  • • Stakeholder Management: Proficiency in engaging relevant external stakeholders (policy makers, civil society, investors, etc.).
  • • Facilitation and Moderation: Proven experience in moderating workshops involving stakeholders with different perspectives, able to facilitate decision-making processes
  • • Project Management: Track record in running projects from inception to implementation.
  • • Language Skills: Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is advantageous.
