Launched in 2017 in partnership with local facilitator GoldenBee Consulting, Drive Sustainability China (DS China) puts the global mission of Drive Sustainability into action within China.
A Platform for Local Engagement and Supplier Development
DS China works to embed sustainable supply-chain practices among global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and their local suppliers. Through a combination of supplier training, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability capacity-building activities, it supports OEMs and suppliers in addressing key sustainability challenges together to enhance sustainability throughout the automotive industry.
Regular training sessions and exchange events aim to raise awareness and strengthen sustainable practices across the supply chain. This year’s OEM–Supplier Exchange Event and Supplier Training in Beijing, welcomed over 180 participants. Survey results from the event highlight the growing maturity of sustainability practices among Chinese automotive suppliers. 63% of surveyed suppliers reported having internal systems to monitor sustainability performance, and the SAQ remains the most widely used tool, adopted by 63.64% of respondents.
These events reflect DS China’s ongoing commitment to providing structured opportunities for suppliers and OEMs to exchange insights, build capabilities, and discuss emerging sustainability expectations.
Introducing the Drive+ China Network
In December 2024, DS China expanded its reach by officially launching the Drive+ China Network. The new platform is designed primarily for Tier-1 suppliers and supplier organisations in China, amplifying the sustainability principles of OEMs throughout the broader supply chain.
By doing so, Drive+ China Network fosters cooperation between OEMs, tier-1 suppliers, and organisations — strengthening transparency, accountability, and shared responsibility across all levels of the supply chain.
