Continued Commitment to Regulatory Alignment
As the regulatory landscape continues to evolve, expectations and requirements towards the automotive (and other) supply chains are increasing noticeably, the ongoing work on the regulatory frameworks stood out as one of the major focuses of the Steering Committee.
As Drive Sustainability strives to meet the sector’s expectations and regulatory requirements, OEMs and stakeholders are actively involved in conversation and the updating of available tools such as the Sustainability Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ).
A key priority for this year and 2025 is for the partnership to continue working on integrating the due diligence requirements of the EU Batteries Regulation (EUBR), the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CS3D) and the EU Regulation Forced Labour Free Products.
Strengthening Partnerships with Chinese OEMs
Another key highlight of the meeting was the participation of Chinese stakeholders, including representatives from the OEM Geely and GoldenBee, Drive Sustainability’s facilitator for its local network in China.
Their presence highlighted the importance of Drive Sustainability’s global role in continuing and enhancing its support for and collaboration with Chinese OEMs and stakeholders, further reinforcing the global scope of its mission.

Looking Ahead: Drive Sustainability’s Direction Toward 2025
As the expectations and requirements towards the automotive and other supply chains are only increasing, the forward approach – shaped by OEMs – includes furthering the engagement of the entire supply chain, involving greater cross-sectorial collaboration and alignment.
As the automotive industry navigates a future impacted by sustainability legislations, Drive Sustainability has set its sights on pursuing the adaptation of its tools by integrating the due diligence requirements of regulations such as the EUBR, EUDR, CS3D and the EU Regulation Forced Labour Free Products.
Furthermore, in the continuity of its commitment to strengthening its collaboration with Drive Plus, – the Tier-1 suppliers and supplier associations platform – a 6-month pilot project was initiated to focus on supply chain mapping (mapping and risk surveillance) and jointly developing additional solutions aimed at enhancing access to remedy within the automotive supply chain.
The final Steering Committee of the year, set for early December, will further refine Drive Sustainability’s agenda for ongoing growth in 2025 and beyond. Read more on our 2030 strategy.
